Dr.Ulviye Akın
I established the Turcology department at the university where I was assigned with a state scholarship in the United States and taught Turkish reading and writing lessons to American students. During this period, I continued my master’s degree in attention and memory strategies in the field of special education at Mercyhurst University with a Fulbright scholarship. I focused on the areas of increasing academic success, learning disabilities, language learning techniques, academic risk group students and teaching reading / writing strategies.
I completed my doctoral thesis at Gazi University with the support of TUBITAK with my work on academic success and academic risk. Between 2004 and 2018, I worked at various levels in the Ministry of National Education and finally in the Department of Research, Development and Projects and the Department of Education Policies of the General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services.
In 2018, I taught the master’s course “New Approaches in Education” at Bahçeşehir University. Between 2002 and 2019, I worked as a manager and researcher in many international education projects. During the same period, I continued my field studies and my work as a guest expert in England, Belgium and the USA. Since 2017, I have been continuing my studies in the field of learning strategies as the Honorary Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Consulting Professional Development and Special Education Research Association.
Since 2018, I have carried our intervention and academic research studies that we synthesized with European Union projects to the international dimension with the studies of the International Consulting Professional Development and Special Education Research Association and Dr. Ulviye Akın Academy Research and Development Center within the scope of “European Success and Learning Solutions”.
I have articles, reports and research projects in the fields of academic risk groups, memory methods and language teaching. We have received awards from the Ministry of National Education, UNICEF, the European Union, many private schools and organizations with my institutional academic consultancy studies. I continue my studies by focusing on language, attention, memory, dyslexia, reading and mathematics reinforcement programs, special talent, focus, logic and reasoning and permanent learning.
In other words; my studies on effective learning continue in all academic fields.
Ulviye Akın, who established the Turcology Department at the university with the Fulbright scholarship program, the most prestigious in the United States, has made important studies on teaching the Turkish language.
She has taken an active role in international organizations regarding the Turkish language being among the critical languages in the world.
