Adult Dyslexia

One of the biggest misconceptions about dyslexia is that it can only be noticed in childhood. Adults overlook the possibility of dyslexia. The reason for this is that they have adapted the differences and characteristics that dyslexia has brought to their lives with their own strategies since childhood. Even though they are successful in life with these strategies, they may still have difficulty in some areas. With new, effective and individually developed programs and strategies, it is possible to transform the characteristics that dyslexia gives to the individual into effective successes and skills. It is estimated that one in every 10 people has dyslexia. Recently, families and schools have become more aware of this difficulty and it is diagnosed better when children are young compared to the past. In fact, many adults who have had difficulty reading and writing throughout their lives have not heard of dyslexia. Dyslexic adults who are unaware of their condition are the most difficult cases. Even if they have normal or above average intelligence, they can often have difficulty at some stages of their lives. Most adults with dyslexia try to hide this difficulty because they are ashamed of their mistakes.
